Altitude Adventure Nepal (AAN) – Nar Phu Valley Trek Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel by private vehicles (1350 m) overnight at the hotel
Altitude Adventure Nepal (AAN) warmly welcomes you to Nepal. Our representative will be waiting outside the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, holding an A4 size paper with your and our company name. They will escort you to a hotel in Kathmandu. After checking in, take some time to rest and freshen up before a meeting to discuss your trek.

Day 2: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour and Trek Preparation day in Kathmandu (1350 m) overnight at Kathmandu hotel
After breakfast, embark on a Kathmandu valley tour with an experienced guide, visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, and Boudhanath. The tour, conducted via comfortable private vehicles, provides insights into Buddhism, Hinduism, ancient art, historical architecture, and the culture of the Kathmandu Valley. Return to the office in the afternoon to finalize your trekking clothing and gear.

Day 3: Drive to Syange (1140 m) total 8/9 hrs drive. Overnight in tea-house
An early departure from Kathmandu takes you to Syange via Besisahar, a journey of 8-9 hours. Enjoy the scenic drive along river valleys, towns, terraced fields, and green hilly landscapes. Change to another vehicle in Besisahar, and reach Syange.

Day 4: Trek to Dharapani (1900 m) 6/7 hrs walk. Overnight in tea-house
Trek to Darapani from Syange, a journey of about 6-7 hours. The trail gently ascends through Jagat, Chyamje, and Taal Village, crossing suspension bridges and offering views of the Annapurna range.

Day 5: Trekking to Koto (2670 m) 5 hrs walk. Overnight at Tea-house
The trail ascends along a mule track through pine and fir forests, providing spectacular mountain views of Annapurna II and the Manaslu range. Reach Koto, a small village inhabited by Gurung and other ethnic groups influenced by Buddhist Tibetans.

Day 6: Trekking to Meta (3700 m) 6/7 hrs walk. Overnight at Tea-house
Start the Nar Phu Valley trekking from Koto, navigating a steep and narrow path through dense forests. Much of the walk is spent in the shade of the deep gorge of Nar Phu Khola. After crossing the Phu Khola, detour to a charming riverside hot spring before reaching Meta.

Day 7: Trekking to Kyang (3560 m) 5 hrs walk. Overnight at Tea-house
The trail becomes more challenging, crossing a maze of glacial moraines. The landscape features white rocks, low shrubs, juniper, evergreens, and stunning mountain views. Arrive at Kyang, enjoying superb views of Pisang Peak, Annapurna II, and Gyaji Kang.

Day 8: Trekking to Phu Village (4200 m) 5 hrs walk. Overnight at Tea-house
From Kyang, descend into the dry, desert-like gorge of the Phu Khola, passing through a hair-raising section of trail carved out of the cliff face. Reach Phu Village, witnessing unique chortens, canyonlands, gorges, and the ancient gate providing the first view of the three villages of Phu.

Day 9: Rest day in Phu Village for acclimatization and explore around there
Interact with locals and explore the wide valley systems above. Walk up to the summer grazing settlement or Kharka at Ngoru for acclimatization and physical fitness. Observe villagers spinning yak and sheep wool in the incredibly interesting Phu village.

Day 10: Trekking to Nar Village (4150 m) 8 hrs walk. Overnight at Tea-house
Trek back to Phu gate, Khyang, Charkha, and Jhunam, then head to Nar. Pass fantastically eroded hoodoos, sandy gullies, and the ruined Zampa Cho Dzong. Enjoy beautiful gorges and breathtaking scenery before reaching the Nar gates and passing painted chortens.

Day 11: Trekking to Kang La Pass (5316 m) to Ngwal (3675 m) 7 hrs walk. Overnight at Tea-house
Embark on a spectacular trek to the Kang La Pass, providing magnificent views. Descend to Ngwal through a roller-coaster maze of glacial moraines, offering stunning landscapes and an old village with cobbled streets and prayer wheels.

Day 12: Trekking to Manang (3570 m) 8 hrs walk. Overnight at Tea-house
Enjoy an easy day to Manang with superb views of Annapurna II, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, Gandharva Chuli, and Pisang Peak. Pass through a flat valley along the Marsyangdi River, visit Braga monasteries, and relish the views of the Annapurna range. Manang is a small town.

Day 13: Trek to Yak Kharka (4050 m) 5/6 hrs walk. Overnight in tea-house
Though a short day, the ascent may feel challenging due to high altitude. Ascend to Ghunsang through Tengi Village, leaving the Marsyangdi valley. Hike further up to reach Yak Kharka, enjoying mountain views and wildlife sightings.

Day 14: Trek to Thorong Phedi (4450 m) 4/5 hrs walk. Overnight in tea-house
Thorong Phedi serves as the base for Thorong La Pass. The gradual trail allows for easy walking. Cross suspension bridges, admire mountain views, and reach Thorong Phedi. Optionally, hike to Thorong high camp for high altitude acclimatization.

Day 15: Trek to Muktinath (3800 m) via Thorong-La Pass (5416 m) 8/9 hrs walk. Overnight in tea-house
Embark on an exciting, long, and challenging day, crossing Thorong La Pass, the highest point of the Annapurna Circuit Trek. Start early to reach the pass, capturing panoramic mountain views. Descend to Muktinath, a famous pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists.

Day 16: Trek to Jomsom (2750 m) 6 hrs walk. Overnight in tea-house
Walk down to Kagbeni through Jharkot and Khinga Village, with views of Nilgiri Mountain. Enjoy lunch in Kagbeni and explore the village. Continue to Jomsom, the headquarters of the Mustang District.

Day 17: Drive or Fly from Jomsom all the way to Pokhara.
Drive or fly from Jomsom to Pokhara. Upon arrival, take a rest and explore Pokhara City and Fewa Lake if time permits. The trek concludes in Pokhara, where you can relax and enjoy amenities such as showers and delicious food.

Day 18: Back to Kathmandu by air or tourist bus. Overnight at Hotel
Leave early for Kathmandu from Pokhara, enjoying a picturesque journey through river valleys and towns. Take the rest of the day to relax in your Kathmandu hotel or do souvenir shopping.

Day 19: Final departure
