Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu [1345m/4411ft] and Transfer to Hotel

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative from Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition will greet you. You will then be transferred to a hotel located in the heart of Kathmandu city. Our staff will assist you with the check-in process. You can either relax at the hotel or visit NGT’s office for additional trip information. In the evening, join our welcome dinner program organized by Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition.

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing

Today, we will explore some of Kathmandu Valley’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites. We will also complete necessary paperwork and make preparations for the Dorje Lakpa Expedition. Please refer to our detailed information about the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu. Note that it’s not possible to visit all sites in one day, so you can choose 3-4 places for sightseeing.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche [1966m/6448ft]

After breakfast, we embark on a scenic drive along a winding road, offering views of Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang Himalayan Ranges. Passing through the market town of Trisuli, we continue on a gravel road to Dhunche. The journey takes around 6-7 hours. In Dhunche, we register at the National Park Office and check into extensive teahouses.

Day 04: Trek from Dhunche to Thulo Syabru [2250m/7380ft]

Our trek begins from Dhunche, leading us through dense Oak and Pine forests to Thulo Bharkhu and Barbal. We then trek through temperate forests with occasional views of Ganesh Himal and Langtang valley. The trail ascends to the Tamang village of Thulo Syabru.

Day 05: Trek from Thulo Syabru to Lama Hotel [2470m/8101ft]

Descending to Langtang Khola, we follow the true left bank to Bamboo and Rimche before reaching Lama Hotel. The trail passes through small settlements and offers opportunities to spot wildlife.

Day 06: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village [3330m/10922ft]

Trekking through dense forests of oak, birch, and hemlock, we ascend to Ghoratabela. Passing through Chyamki and Kangtangsa, we reach Langtang village with stunning views of Langtang Lirung.

Day 07: Trek from Langtang Village to Kyangjin Gompa [3870m/12693ft]

Today, we trek through Bhotia hamlets Mundu and Sindum, enjoying views of Langtang Lirung. Climbing through the terminal moraine of Lirung Glacier, we reach Kyangjin Gompa.

Day 08: Rest/Acclimatization day at Kyangjin Gompa. Hike to Tsergo-Ri [4985m/16350ft] & back to Kyangjin Gompa.

Take a rest day for acclimatization and explore Kyangjin Gompa. Optionally, hike to Tsergo-Ri for panoramic views of Langtang Lirung.

Day 09: Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Yak Kharka [4600m/15088ft]

Descending to Langtang river, we ascend into alpine vegetation. Passing through juniper shrubs, we arrive at Yak Kharka for overnight camping.

Day 10: Trek from Yak Kharka to Lakpa Dorje Base Camp [4950m/16236ft]

Climb steeply into higher altitudes, taking rest breaks to restore energy. Arrive at Lakpa Dorje Base Camp for preparations.

Day 11-30: Climbing Dorje Lakpa [6966m/22848ft] and back to Base Camp

Spend days preparing for the climb and summit Dorje Lakpa. Enjoy breathtaking views before descending to Base Camp.

Day 31: Trek from Base Camp to Yak Kharka

Return to Yak Kharka, enjoying the downhill trek.
